Do you have virtual sessions?
Do you see individuals and couples?
What is the cost per session?
Do you take insurance?
Currently, I only take Cigna insurance. I am not in-network with any other insurance companies.
However, I provide a monthly statement that you can submit to your insurance carrier for reimbursement. But don’t worry, we can talk more about this. If needed, I can help by giving you some guidance before you call your insurance.
What is your cancellation policy?
How long are your sessions for individual and couples therapy?
How long are your sessions for EMDR?
What can I expect in my first session?
Whether it’s individual, couples, or EMDR, you can expect me to be curious about your current situation and get a lot of information in order to get a good sense of what is the problem with which you are dealing.
It may feel like we aren’t getting to the heart of everything just yet, but it’s an important part of the process, so we can best get a clear direction for treatment.
How do you handle clients who come from different cultural backgrounds?
I take into account and prioritize my client’s cultural background and influences when needed.
I often start from this perspective since I want to be sensitive and never assume you share the same experience as others. I have extensive experience working with different cultures and will provide you the same respect.
Do you work differently with gay couples than you do with heterosexual ones?
When will I know I’m done with therapy?
It’s certainly understandable why you would want to know the answer to this question. What’s important to know is that everyone’s experience with therapy is different and unique.
This means that some clients reach their goals and then decide to keep going as a means of maintenance, like going to the gym.
What I promise is that we will always discuss your progress in session and adjust based on your needs.
Am I allowed to know anything about you?
Look, I get it. Your relationship with a therapist can feel very one-sided and unusual at times. You might even want to know if I’m gay, straight, or in a relationship. But knowing these things can change the dynamic of our relationship and affect your treatment.
Remember, this might be the one place throughout your week where you don’t have to worry about what I’m thinking or feeling. That way, we can be free to focus on you. How does that sound?
